nonfiction writing
I was the features writer for the now defunct Ritz Filmbill, a wonderful full-color magazine that covered not just the films playing at the four Ritz theaters, but also Philadelphia dining and theater culture. Getting paid to interview filmmaker and actors was one of the best jobs I ever had. I got the gig when the editors read a blog I kept of my ultra-budget trip to the Sundance Film Festival in which I lost my wallet, got sucker punched by a drunk Australian, and debated whether my dog at home was really dying or just faking it. He was faking it.
